The obedientiarys of Tibetan monastery Tashi Palden Drepung Gomang Datsan are going to start their fourth official tour to Russia. The starting point of the tour will be Moscow, where in the Museum of Nicholas Roerich International Roerich Centre (Small Znamenskii lane., 3/5. (Kropotkinskaya) from 17 to 25 August will be erected a sand mandala of Green Tara. Also will be represented a cultural program, which main aim is to help visitors to expand knowledge about Tibetan culture and life of obedientiarys in one of the biggest monastery-university of today world.

Building sand mandala - is an ancient Tibetan art, which became available in Europe less than 10 years ago. For many centuries it was a part of the secret tantric rituals. Today this amazing mystery allows everybody to get in touch with the invaluable experience of the Buddhist tradition and closer acquainted with the unique culture of Tibet.

All members of the delegation finished a 15-year monastic education at the University of Drepung Gomang, 4 monks have a degree of "Geshe" Buddhist philosophy, which corresponds to the European understanding of the degree of "Doctor of Science". The official delegation head ritual direction of the monastery is also a master of ritual singing, the first voice of Drepung Gomang. The delegation is led by Geshe Lharamba Zhinpa.

Each day of the monks Russia tour will begin with a morning ceremony jointly meditation, followed by the famous Tibetan lamas overtone singing. Then the monks will construct a sand mandala in the presence of everyone to see and meditate in the construction of the Palace of Green Tara. Visitors will also be able to listen to lectures on the philosophy of Buddhism, an audience with the head of delegation Geshe Lharamba Zhinpa, participate in master classes.

After completion of the mandala will be destroyed. This is a separate ritual, also carrying a deep sacred and symbolic meaning: nothing is permanent, and we must not be attached to anything whatsoever. Funds received in the form of offerings, will go to the needs of the monastery, the monks nursing content, as well as orphans, who brought up and trained in the monastery. Drepung Monastery Tashi Gomang Datsan is one of seven departments of the oldest monastery complex Palden Drepung, which was founded in 1416. In the late 1950s because of the occupation of Tibet by China, which was destroyed in the Land of Snows, the monastery was restored in north- eastern India. From 1969 to the present day Gomang Datsan is located in the Indian state of Karnataka. The monastery is best known for many great lamas, scholars and philosophers practices attained high spiritual realizations. Currently, there are more than 2,000 monks in monastery, including monks from Russia, Mongolia, Nepal, Bhutan and some Himalayan regions of India.
